Blue Water Quay

Showday Public Holiday, gorgeous 22 degree winter's day, family stroll along the Blue Water Quay, not many people about.... so I was inspired.
Happened to have this tag in the car.... fit this spot perfectly.

So today I went back to the gorgeous tree and added three tags of my own.



I did this one first, and ended up sewing it on upside down and back to front! Ha. I was a bit nervous as it was just before 9am and the park was crawling with office workers and folks waiting for the library to open.



I chilled out when I realised no one cared what I was doing!








I've added cards with a link to this blog, now let's wait and see if any Mackay knitters find me!

An excusable absence.

Well hi there friends.
I've been offline for a few months now - with good reason. I have a new baby boy (now four months), have sold a business and packed up my family and moved 1000ks North to Mackay. So you'll forgive me for going missing for a while!

And now for more exciting, yarn related news.

A visit to the Mackay Library today made me chance upon the biggest Yarn Bombing effort I have ever seen in person! A huge fig tree outside the Library is just covered in tags of all shapes and sizes and colours. There is crocheting and knitting and pom-poms and even small stuffed animals dangling from the tree.

Please do not remove any pieces, but you're most welcome to add your own.

Obviously I plan to do that ASAP!
A google search of the group behind this project doesn't reveal a blog or a contact. So I'll add a few tags with a card attached with this blog address, and see if they find me.
I'll let you know how I go.......

A Partner in Crime.

A good friend has started doing her own Yarn Tags around town.



Here's a couple she put up in Southport last week.
Southport is such a great spot for Yarn Bombing - lots of people about, and an eclectic mix of people too.



It's awesome having someone else on board!
Would love to hear from anyone else keen to share some Yarn love around the GC as well.

It's my new knitting bag - carrying my latest project, plus a few tags in case the perfect bombing opportunty arises when out and about!

Wish I had taken more tags with me, this was an unplanned bombing - a perfect spot for many many more. We might go back one night.......
